A notebook originally referred to a small booklet used for recording various kinds of events. Before the invention of writing, humans often employed knotting ropes as a method to record numbers or events, conveying certain meanings and communicating information. As evidenced by physical artifacts such as net-patterned designs in surviving prehistoric paintings, rope patterns on pottery, and clay net weights, knot-tying for record-keeping (and counting) was one of the widely used recording methods among early human societies.
This notebook series comes in a variety of styles. Common cover materials include genuine leather, faux leather PU, leatherette, PP, fabric, and metal. Binding styles include: paperback notebooks, loose-leaf notebooks, ring-bound notebooks, and hardcover notebooks.
